Our approach to investing is best understood through contact with our existing portfolio companies and their managements. The management teams of our current and past portfolio companies are our best references. In fact, many have come full circle to work with us on subsequent startups. This is the kind of long-term relationship that we most enjoy having with the entrepreneurs we have been privileged to back.
Our time, commitment and experience, combined with great entrepreneurs, innovative ideas and large emerging markets is the foundation upon which we have built North Bridge Venture Partners.

North Bridge Venture Partners is an active, bi-coastal, early-stage venture capital firm based in the Boston, Massachusetts and San Mateo, California areas. Our definition of active, early-stage investing is quite simple: more than capital is required to achieve business success.
For North Bridge, success is derived through a partnership with entrepreneurs that produces industry leading companies in large emerging markets. Historically, the firm’s partners have played a significant role in organizing, starting, and building successful companies.
Working in concert with entrepreneurs, we add value by providing strategic guidance, sharing operating experience, industry specific knowledge, team-building skills, and an in-depth understanding of both private and public financings. In addition, our broad network of industry experts, current and past portfolio companies, and most importantly, the people who built them, are valuable resources for entrepreneurs.

Our Strategy
At North Bridge , we have found that working closely with entrepreneurs at the concept stage is most rewarding. This work is time intensive, not capital intensive; however, we make this commitment up front when professional investors are hard to find. While a typical project may require millions of our capital, it is not unusual for us to seed a project with an initial commitment of $100,000 - $500,000. In fact, some of our most successful companies began in our offices with a small capital commitment and a large commitment of our time and experience.
